Connaître la signification de "Bièvre", que l'on trouve dans le nom de la commune. Il s'agit d'un mot ancien qui signifie "castor". La rivière était ici habitée par de nombreux castors. On retrouve cette étymologie dans d'autres noms de communes composés du mot "Beuvron".
