Recognized as the most beautiful zoo in France and ranked fourth worldwide by Forbes Magazine, the ZooParc of Beauval spans 45 hectares, hosting approximately 35,000 animals representing 800 species.

This immersive adventure transports you from the mountains of Asia, home to the famous giant pandas of China, to the vast plains of the savannah where lions, elephants, and giraffes roam. Birth Announcements

The Nursery at the ZooParc of Beauval

With nearly 1,000 births per year, including 900 recorded in 2022, the ZooParc of Beauval plays a crucial role in species conservation. These new arrivals, whether they are furry or feathered, enchant visitors and receive attentive and dedicated care.

Notable Births:

2017: Yuan Meng, the first baby panda born at Beauval, also a first in France.
2018: Arrival of four lion cubs from South Africa.
2020: Gloria, the first baby hippopotamus born at Beauval.
2021: Birth of twin pandas, Huanlili and Yuandudu, on August 2nd.
2022: Maïwenn, a young female giraffe, is born.
2023: Moana, a young female manatee.
2024: Malia, the first yellow-backed duiker calf born in France!

A Constantly Evolving Park

Founded in 1980 by Françoise Delord as an ornithological park, the ZooParc of Beauval has continually evolved to offer optimal habitats for its residents. Every year, new areas are inaugurated, such as the African Savannah, the Australian Greenhouse, the Land of Lions, the Hippopotamus Reserve, and more recently, the Equatorial Dome and the South American Aviary.

These immersive environments are designed to faithfully replicate the animals' natural habitats, allowing visitors to enjoy unique and privileged observations. Beauval is committed to providing exceptional living conditions for the animals, ensuring their well-being and contributing to their conservation.

Histoire du ZooParc de Beauval

La passion d'une femme, devenue aventure familiale !

Tout a commencé avec un couple de capucins bec-d'argent offert à Françoise Delord. Tombée sous le charme de ces oiseaux, elle a consacré sa vie à leur bien-être, accumulant rapidement une collection de plusieurs centaines de volatiles.

À l’étroit dans son appartement parisien, Françoise, artiste de music-hall, s’installe à Beauval, à Saint-Aignan, au sud de la splendide Vallée de la Loire. Ce lieu lui offre un cadre idéal pour ses oiseaux, qu'elle emmène avec elle et sa famille.

En 1980, avec son mari Jacques Delord, magicien de talent, elle ouvre un parc ornithologique à Beauval pour partager sa passion avec le public. Pendant une décennie, le parc se consacre exclusivement aux oiseaux avant de s’agrandir en 1989 avec l’arrivée des premiers fauves et primates.

Depuis, le ZooParc de Beauval n’a cessé de s’enrichir de nouvelles espèces, accueillant notamment les premiers tigres blancs en France en 1991. En 2012, le parc reçoit un couple de pandas géants, Huan Huan et Yuan Zi, offerts par la Chine, devenant ainsi les premiers représentants de leur espèce en France. Aujourd’hui, Rodolphe Delord, fils de Françoise, continue de diriger le parc avec la même passion, visant à protéger la faune sauvage et à transmettre l’amour des animaux.
