A MEDIEVAL STRONGHOLD
The chateau's history begins in the 14th century with Jean Hurault's acquisition of a modest residence at the gates of Sologne. It wasn't until 1510 that the château was transformed into a formidable fortress, defended by towers, turrets, and a drawbridge.
A TIMELESS CULTURAL SITESince the 16th century, the Chateau of Cheverny has been owned by the Hurault de Vibraye family, who have served several French kings over the centuries.
